When you sign up for a retainer with an agency you're buying a certain number of hours in exchange for work. A retainer modal can incur added costs once those allocated hours are reached. However, on a subscription, you pay a fixed monthly fee for an unlimited amount of tasks that are completed and delivered to you one by one.

A project relates to a group of tasks that needs to be completed.

For example, let's say we have a client named, Tony. Tony wants to run two ad campaigns on social media:
- one campaign directing people to his services website page, and
- one campaign prompting people to sign up to his newsletter.

The creation of these two ad campaigns would be classified as a single project. Creating the imagery, captions and publishing the ads are classified as tasks inside the project. We then complete the tasks inside this project one by one within one to two businesses days.

Once subscribed, you're able to add as many marketing tasks to your job queue as you'd like, and they will be delivered one by one.

On average, most tasks inside a project are completed in one to two business days or less. However, more complex requests, like projects or events will take longer.

Phillipjane offers countless ways of how you can request marketing tasks using Trello.

Some common ways clients request tasks are directly via Trello, sharing Google Docs or uploading a video brief into their own designated client Google Drive folder. If it can be linked to or shared in Trello, it's fair game.

For bigger projects, a 30-minute briefing call is another way to get your brief to us.

We understand you may not have enough marketing tasks to fill up an entire month. Perhaps you only have one or two tasks at the moment. That's where pausing your subscription comes in handy.


Billing cycles are based on a 31 day period. Let's say you sign up and use the service for 21 days, and then decide to pause your subscription. This means that the billing cycle will be paused once your current request has been delivered and you'll have 10 days of service remaining to be used anytime in the future.

No worries! If you're on our Single or All Service plans we'll continue to revise and work on your task until you're 100% satisfied. For our Starter plan we'll work with you on two revisions.

Attending or managing your marketing events, telemarketing, brand strategy (for now), 3D modelling, animated graphics (GIFS, etc.), document design (medical forms, etc.), packaging, and extensive print design (magazines, books, etc.).
